Trade Delegation from Taiwan Brings Business Opportunities to Solomon Islands

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) is sending a trade delegation, comprised of representatives from seven Taiwanese companies, to Solomon Islands to host a trade show from Saturday 7 October to Wednesday 11 October 2017 at the Alvaro de Mendana Ballroom of Kitano Mendana Hotel. The opening hours of the trade show are from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

There will be an exhibition of more than 40 pieces of latest products, such as electric therapy devises, medical taping, solar power system and appliances, AC LED lighting, corrugated paper figures, gift wrapping paper, tablets, wireless security systems, Bluetooth speakers, black sugar tea, and other high quality and innovative products.

The coming Solomon Islands-ROC (Taiwan) Trade Show will provide local enterprises with a good opportunity to meet representatives of Taiwanese companies face to face in discussing possible business cooperation. It will serve as an ideal platform to establish closer trade ties between Taiwan and Solomon Islands.

According to the Taiwan Bureau of Foreign Trade, the bilateral trade between Taiwan and Solomon Islands reached $18.26 million USD in 2016, a 26% growth over previous year. Products exported from Taiwan to Solomon Islands include fish and crustaceans, mollusks and other aquatic invertebrates, iron and steel, electrical machinery, sound recorders and television screens, rubber, plastics, and other high quality products. There are tremendous business opportunities between Solomon Islands and Taiwan.

Taiwan is the 18th trade nation in the world in 2016 and is famous for its computers, electronics, fisheries, food processing and other industries in the international trade. The Trade Show is a unique opportunity for Solomon business people to expand their business and gain new partners in international trade.

The following are the references of three Taiwanese companies attending the Trade Show:

  • Giga Medical was established in 1997 and has been a reliable partner for hospitals, clinics, doctors, and professionals in the physical medicine and rehabilitation fields. The company will display an electric therapy device, TENS. This device, am easy home pain relief gadget, has a large liquid crystal display and press buttons, which makes it easy for users to set the Mode or Timer.
  • Speedtech Energy is a total solar solution provider, specializing in the design, development, and manufacture of solar photovoltaic and LED power solutions. The company comprises a team of qualified experts and highly experienced engineers, willing to be on the ground, dedicated to transferring knowledge, training and coaching teams abroad, for efficient and collaborative work. Solar reading lamps, solar 3W LED portable lamps, and solar LED radios, are their main products at the show, with green energy concept designs.
  • Puli Paper, established in 1979, is one of the largest producers of specialty paper in Taiwan, with more than three decades of experience servicing clients around the world in more than 60 countries. Their products, named “Crazy Creations”, is made of single face corrugated paper. It is an easy do-it-yourself creative product, simply made by rolling, pushing and gluing. It can be molded into any creative product, such as paper figures, toys, stationeries, lovely animals, and more. Individuals, parents and children, teachers and students, can all create unique products, which are safe, environmentally friendly, creative, and enlightening.
