Treasurer / Board Alternate – Cook Islands, Cook Islands Chamber of Commerce.

Eve Hayden serves as the Treasurer of PIPSO, with extensive experience as an advocate for the Cook Islands’ private sector. She is currently Vice-Chair of the Cook Islands Chamber of Commerce, and takes the lead for the Chamber and Employers for Labour, Immigration, Skills, and Qualifications. where she is instrumental in supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Her work is focused on expanding business resources, advocating for sustainable development, and managing programs to support business resilience, labour resilience, and training. Eve’s proactive approach to private sector development has helped shape the Chamber’s offerings, making it a critical resource for entrepreneurs in the Cook Islands.

 

Areas of Expertise

• Private Sector Development: Expertise in fostering SME growth and creating opportunities through training and financial support.
• Financial Management and Strategy: Oversees finance-related initiatives, including grant facilitation for SMEs.
• Economic Resilience: Actively works on programs to diversify the local economy beyond tourism, helping businesses adapt to external economic shocks.

Eve is dedicated to economic resilience and sustainability for all Pacific Island economies. She is particularly focused on empowering  businesses, advocating for private sector enablement, and  providing them with the skills and resources they need to succeed. 

 

Vision for PIPSO 

“In recognition that in order for the private sector and employers to succeed locally, we need to have a strong regional private sector voice.  Strengthening and stabilizing PIPSO to ensure robust Governance and for it to provide true regional representation is my goal in being involved at the Board level. Together, we are stronger.”
