Suva, Fiji – At the Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation 9th Annual General Meeting in Nadi, Fiji, Tuala Pat Leota, President of the Samoa Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented a USD $2000.00 donation to the Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
The donation was from fundraising efforts of a Fashion Show, showcasing Samoa and American Samoa fashion house. This took place during the week-long 2Samoas Trade Fair held in American Samoa in April this year which was organised by the Samoa Chamber of Commerce, American Samoa Chamber of Commerce, and the Samoa Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC). PIPSO had provided some funding support toward the 2Samoas Trade Fair through its Business Development Fund facility.
The organising committee of the 2Samoas Trade Fair agreed to donate the proceeds of this successful fashion show to a post-Tropical Cyclone Pam appeal, and in particular to assist business rehabilitation for micro & SMEs in Vanuatu.
Mr Thomas Bayer thanked the American Samoa and Samoa Chambers of Commerce and SBEC for the donation and said he was very grateful with the generous gesture.
